Set your Codex credit price
Tell Tokenize what you pay per Codex credit so Codex spend matches your OpenAI contract.
OpenAI meters Codex usage in credits. Tokenize turns credits into dollars with a price per credit. By default it uses OpenAI's list price per credit. If your contract has a different price, set it here so Codex spend in Tokenize matches what you pay.
Who can do this: Admins.
When the setting appears
The Codex credit price panel shows in the OpenAI section of Settings → Providers only after an OpenAI Enterprise key is saved. If you don't see it, connect OpenAI Enterprise first.
Find your price
Check the price per Codex credit on your OpenAI order form. If it isn't listed, ask your OpenAI account team. The How to find this price link in the panel says the same.
Set a custom price
- Go to Settings → Providers and find Codex credit price in the OpenAI section.
- Enter your price in Price per credit, in US dollars. The price must be from $0.000001 to $1.
- Click Save price.
- In the "Update Codex credit price?" dialog, click Update price.
Below the field, Tokenize shows "Custom price" when your own price is in use, or "OpenAI list price" with the list amount when it isn't.
Go back to the list price
- Click Use list price. This button only appears while a custom price is set.
- In the "Use OpenAI list price?" dialog, click Use list price.
What changes when you save
The new price applies to all Codex spend, including past periods. The dashboard shows the updated amounts the next time you load the page.
Codex budgets use the same price, so a budget and the spend measured against it always agree. See Budgets and How cost is calculated.
Troubleshooting
- "Enter a price from $0.000001 to $1." The value is outside the allowed range. Check that you entered dollars per credit, not cents.
- "Couldn't load the Codex credit price. Try again." Click Try again.
- "Couldn't save the Codex credit price. Try again." Your price wasn't saved. Try again in a moment.
