Read the Overview and weekly digest

Understand the Overview report, its spend and adoption sections, and the weekly digest Tokenize publishes every Tuesday.

The Overview page is the organization-wide home of the dashboard. It has two tabs: Report, a live view of spend and adoption, and Digest, a written summary of each past week.

Who can see this: Admins. Other roles don't see the Overview. They land on My Usage instead.

The Report tab

Use the range picker in the top right to choose Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or Last 90 days. Every section on the page follows that range.

If you have opportunities waiting, a banner at the top says "You have N opportunities to be more efficient and save costs." Click Review to open Opportunities.

Activity

A daily chart of cost, with a 7-day average line. Hover over a day to see its Cost, 7-day avg, Sessions, and Users.

Provider Breakdown

Spend split by provider. Use the menu next to the title to switch between Providers and Models. Click a provider to see its models, and click the title's back arrow to return.

Stats

StatWhat it shows
Total SpendWhat your people spent on AI tools in the range.
TokensTotal tokens used.
Avg. Cost / UserTotal Spend divided by the number of active users.
API BillWhat your providers charged your API keys. Only shown if you've connected a platform admin key.

The small arrow and percentage under a stat compare the range with the period before it.

API Bill is separate from Total Spend and is never added to it. Total Spend is people using tools like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. The API Bill is what your Claude Platform, OpenAI Platform, or OpenRouter API keys were charged, which is usually products and automations calling the API. Hover over the provider icons under the amount to see each provider's share. For the per-key detail, see Platform Usage.

For what the colored dot next to a spend figure means, see How cost is calculated.

User Adoption

Groups people by how often they used AI in the range:

  • Observers have access but almost never use it.
  • Explorers use it now and then, but it isn't a habit yet.
  • Adopters use it regularly.
  • Power Users use it almost every day and use it efficiently.

Each group shows its spend and how many people are in it. Use the team filter to narrow it to one team.

Users by Spend

The people with the highest spend in the range. Click a name to open their profile. See Users and efficiency.

Budget

Month-to-date spend against budget for the company and up to five teams, sorted by how much of their budget they've used. Click Manage budgets to open Budgets.

If the page shows "Connect your AI providers" instead of data, see Why is my dashboard empty?.

The Digest tab

The digest is a short written report on the last full week. Each week runs Monday through Sunday (UTC). A new digest publishes every Tuesday. Until your first full week closes, the tab shows "No weekly digests".

Use the menu at the top to pick an earlier week. Each digest has these sections:

  • Headline and highlights. A summary of the week, plus notable items such as the most-used model, the highest-cost session, the top Power Users, the most-used skills, and pull requests and commits.
  • Overview. People Active, Sessions, Spend, and Avg. Spend per Person, plus a budget meter when you have a budget. Warnings appear here for unusual spend, large team changes, or people who reached their monthly budget.
  • The Work. What kinds of work the spend went to.
  • Actions and Opportunities. Suggested changes, with estimated savings where Tokenize can calculate them. Click View to open the related page.

Notes at the bottom explain anything left out that week, such as a provider that hadn't finished reporting.

Get the digest by email

Delivery is off until you turn it on.

  1. Go to Settings → Account and open the Digest tab.
  2. Turn on Email.

Emails go out on Tuesdays, when the new digest publishes. The Digest tab in Settings only appears for Admins.

The Slack row shows whether Slack delivery is available to you. Slack delivery needs your organization's Slack workspace connected first. If it isn't, the row says "Slack delivery needs your organization's Slack workspace connected — ask an admin." See Connect Slack.
